Evan Engram

TE, Giants

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Evan Engram is great when healthy, as last year he put up 44 receptions for 467 yards and 3 touchdowns in 8 games (88 receptions for 934 yards and 6 touchdowns over the course of an entire season). Many believe that a healthy Engram combined with a second-year Daniel Jones provides massive upside. The issue is that Engram won’t be very healthy this year. Engram is dealing with a Lisfranc injury in his foot, and though he should be able to play this season, he won’t be the same player while the screw is still in his foot. The Lisfranc injury is notorious for taking explosiveness from a player and making them nowhere near as good as they are when healthy. In addition, Engram is at risk for potentially injuring other parts of his body in an attempt to compensate for the bad foot. He has a lengthy injury history as well, so there is a very good chance he will miss time this year. Engram will also be playing on a limited snap count because of his foot which will seriously hinder his upside. Overall, Evan Engram is a very good player but he is very risky and doesn’t have incredibly high upside this year because of the foot injury. He should still be somewhat productive but isn’t worth drafting unless he’s fallen pretty far in the draft.
