Thornhill has great coverage ability as a player who switched from cornerback to safety. He has tremendous ball skills and cover talent combined with his size make him a versatile defender who can be moved all over the field and cover many different types of players. Thornhill will be best used in a very creative defense with a coach who can put him in the best position to succeed, as he isn’t the type of player to only fill one specific role. Depending on his success as a rookie, teams may decide to switch him back to corner, but safety seems like the best fit for now. Overall, Thornhill has the size and cover ability to become a starter early in his NFL career and eventually develop into a very good player.
